I am currently taken A&P II at the Union County College in NJ. I love the course and instructor but the matterial is tough and not an easy read. I keep convincing myself that studying this hard will pay off at the end! Does anyone have any suggestion as to how to digest the information so that I can easily understand the relationship between the body and it's function?

I loved my Anatomy and Physiology class also, I enjoyed the lab. I always got good grades in the lab, I a kind of hands on person. You mentioned the cadaver dissection course, we didn't have that at our college, but we did have a cadavor on ice there. We did a lab on identifying the different body parts, and we had to make our own medical diagnosis, about the body parts, it was great. When I took A&P, we had to dissect a cat. It was fantastic, what I learned that we all have fachia, on our underneath our skins, to protect our tissue. I can still smell the formahydrazide, the chemicals used to preserve dead bodies.

I am currently in Anatomy and Physiology II and I absolutely love it. Open your mind to soak up the information. I am so fascinated with the human body and how it works that it makes it all very interesting to me. Plus, it helps if you have a great instructor like the one here at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Also, if your school offers a cadaver dissection course, I would highly recommend you take it or try to get into it. I am currently in it and it is totally awesome. I never thought about how the human body works until I got into A & P, but now, I cannot get enough information. I just keep wanting to know more. Keep your chin up and put it in your mind that Nursing is what you really want to do and I believe you will succeed. You must always think POSITIVE, not negative.

Everyone should get the book "Straight A's in Anatomy and Physiology"! It helps me so much! Also, go buy a little dry erase board. Once you make note cards to study with, write the answers to the note card questions on the dry erase board. You can also draw out pictures or charts you need to remember. Do it over and over again and soon you will remember it. :)

Does anyone have any study method suggestions for A&P 1? I'm trying to understand as well as memorize what I'm learning and it seems so hard to process.

I've been taking Ginkoba since I started college. It is good for the memory. It is a natural herb, that helps your brain function at it best. I purchased it at Rite Aid Drug store. I don't know if you have a Rite Aid Drug Store in your home state, but try to find a drug store, or herb store that sells Ginkoba. It is called Ginkgo Biloba. I have been into Asian herbs since I was in my earlie twenties. I know having a 6 month baby and going to nursing school is hard, but you can do it, just try this herb.
