Thanks for adding me, Shauna! I can sort of relate to your story about your back pain. My husband has already had two cervical spine surgeries for DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) and now has 4 other prolapsed discs in his thoracic and lumbar areas. He works in construction and says it's the only way to get through the pain...."it's gonna hurt whether I'm sitting or standing, so I may as well be working to at least try and get my mind off the pain," he says. Now that I'm finally working, we have insurance and can finally try and see about more surgery, but it's been a long road, what with going to the ER because of intermittent paralysis or numbness of his legs and the excruciating pain.....it's been real frustrating because oftentimes he is dismissed as a "drug-seeker" before he's ever seen by an ER doctor! So, in a way, I'm feeling your pain, girl!

My first day on my new job, I was overwhelmed, hadn't brought the right meds, and I broke down when the pain got so bad. In a pts. room no less, and she gave me the best pep talk ever!! I had to take my 2nd day of work off b/c the pain was a 9/10 the next day. I had followed the med nurse and the pain from the bending was so bad, but with no stools and nighttime procedures, I had to keep bending in pain then. I think you are very determined person and I admire that. (((((((hugs)))))))))) (gentle ones!!) Peace!!!

Thank you for the invite, and the caring words! I'm sorry to hear that we're both in the same boat! I was actually in tears today at work the spasms were so bad! :( I'm still looking for something at home... right now, it looks like medical transcription is the only thing currently available. *sigh* Oh well. My heart goes out to you, that's for sure! Take care, and keep strong! We've made it this far!

Starlight, I've been in Hospice for 4 years. It was my last job before I had to take off due to my pain. I LOVE it!! I believe we all have one major calling in Nursing, and this is mine. My mom and dad each sit on a shoulder and watch as I care for these people as they were also on Hospice. I just have a deep feeling to give someone on their way out, a dignified and pain-free end. I want that for me!! The ONLY problem here where I live in Southern CA, is the freeways. My tire tracks are already ground into one of the main ones. lol A downer also was when I worked on the weekends, I saw cases ALL OVER. And I mean like 120 miles/day. Now with gas, I wonder how much the mileage pay has gone up!! Oh, and Star.......Thanks for being my friend!!

Thanks for asking me to be your friend. I see you do Hospice work. Do you like it and how long have you been doing it.?
