Personal

About Me:
I am a recent college graduate with a degree in psychology. However, I decide not to apply my degree to mental health, but to healthcare instead. Going into mental health is too expected of someone with a psychology degree, and healthcare is a growing field that I can apply my knowledge of human behavior to. How I wound up in psychology is a bit of a journey. I entered college as a civil engineering major. However, because it was what my parents wanted and not what I wanted, I decided to change my major to something that would not only allow me to make a good living, but something that I would enjoy as well: Interior Design. Because I love to draw and I like architecture, this seemed like a great fit. However, the work was very expensive to complete and time consuming. I actually pulled several all-nighters in a row in order to finish my designs. After a few years of this, I decided that it wasn't for me. I switched to psychology because in addition to being very analytical, I love to do research and was interested in learning about why people act the way they do. Eighteen months later, I graduated with a BA in psychology. After college, I got more heavily involved in my artwork and am thinking about putting on my own art show in the future. During this time out of college, I was continuing to look for a job when my boyfriend gave me the idea to pursue nursing. At first I was skeptical, but learning about how this field is continuing to grow and the earning potential as a nurse, I am now taking steps to get into a great nursing school.
