Weither it is your co-worker or boss there is always one (or many) haha bad apples in the bunch, so how do you learn to deal with these people everyday without loosing your cool?

I deal with bad attitudes by laughing it off.  Why should I let someone else affect how my day is going to be.  I ignore them and eventually they come to me with a better attitude.  Now with my girlfriends, I actually say to them, when your attitude has been adjusted then we can talk...till then ta ta.  As for outsiders....again laughing it off, why let someone ruin your day? Life is to short to be in a bad mood or to let someone bother you.

I don't deal with bad attitudes at all....I just ignore them.  I am a  happy person and no one can make me mad unless I allow them to.  SO, mad people better just not waste their time on me!

I agree with ignoring it if it's a stranger and it really doesn't matter. If you HAVE to work with someone with a bad 'tude then I handle it 1 of 2 ways. If I don't know them very well then I just broadside them with the question "so why are you in such a bad mood? If there's something I did to cause it then lets air it out. If not then can you stop it? It's not cool." Now, if I do know the person well (friends, family, well known co-workers, etc.) then I just ask them "who pi$$ed in your cornflakes this morning?" That usually settles it and we either talk about it and the 'tude improves or they realize they've been in a bad mood and the 'tude improves. Either way, we all get a good laugh and it works.

I try to be nice to them. Drives them crazy. I've said this before, but it works. It takes two to give life to a bad attitude. I would rather be helping my pts.
