I am at Ivy Tech Community College right now and want to be in their nursing school i do plan on getting A's but is it true you have to get straight A's or you won't be a nurse?

It probably depends on how many other people are applying to the program at the time that you apply. 


I just turned in my app for my school's accelerated BSN/MSN program.  This is a program available only to people who have a prior Bachelor's degree in something other than nursing.  There are 20 seats available for the Spring semester beginning in January that I applied for; there were 140 applicants including myself.  There were 178 people applying for the traditional BSN program and there are 80 total seats available for that program beginning in January.  Think about that.  2 things jump out at me... 1) there are almost as many people who have a prior degree in something else and want to go back to school for nursing as there are new students applying for the traditional program 2) how are they going to decide between 318 people applying for 100 seats? 


So yes, GPA is extremely important.  Buckle down and hit the books hard.
