Hey there,

My name is Deena. Currently I am employed as a LPN in a LTC facility in Oakes, ND. I love my position there, I enjoy working with the geriatric population. We offer a wide variety of nursing services so I do not feel I have lost any skills working in LTC. I am also currently a student through the Uni. of SD Vermillio...working towards my RN degree.

I have always known I would be a nurse. When I was young (4th grade) my dad suffered a massive MI and almost died. I stayed by his bedside for the 14 days he was in the hospital, refusing to leave his side. I told him then one dayI wouldbe nurse to help people and their families in need.

Upon graduating HS I started for nursing but switched to OT....well long story short I ended up going back in 2003 to obtain my LPN. Then my dad had a major stroke, was in the hospital and passed away 7 days later...at that now was the time to obtain my RN. So I caan expand my areas of care, etc....My father has and always will be of great inspiration to me...he was only 66 when he died. My mom is also of great inspiration to me, she is strong.

I chose to join Nursing Link to communicate with peers, gain knowledge and job search....

So that's my summed up story.
